Given the pandemic, there haven’t been many developments in the world of yoga but that does not mean it is still not making headlines. Let us see how yoga is still part of our lives:

    International Yoga Day

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on International Yoga Day last year where he emphasised the importance of yoga. In 2020, India was battling the vicious coronavirus pandemic and for the first time in history, the event was shifted to a virtual platform. PM Modi declared a message of peace and brotherhood, stating that yoga does not discriminate and can succeed in bringing people together.

    A new type of yoga

Eye yoga is an up-and-coming wellness trend that is making the headlines. Scientists are now studying how eye exercises can increase focus and even calm a person. Eye rolling, commonly used to express disinterest, is actually effective in increasing attention control and spine alignment. With almost everyone working from home and spending excessive time staring at electronic screens, it is vital to give your eyes a break. Performing eye yoga can reduce stress by activating the upper cervical spine muscles. It can also assist in overcoming neck pain!

    Important of prenatal yoga

Kareena Kapoor Khan has highlighted the effectiveness of pre-natal yoga. Performing yoga during pregnancy can help relieve stress, reduce cramps and even prepare your body for the upcoming birth. Yoga can help pregnant women by easing morning sickness and constipation. Additionally, yoga can help women recover faster post-delivery.

Spanning centuries, yoga has an enriched history and is unlikely to become obsolete. After all, it perhaps the most beneficial activity for all ages.
